Camping at Black Tusk is a great alternative to doing the full hike in one day. The hike to Black Tusk took about 4 hours up, with lots of pictures breaks etc. I hiked in to Taylor Meadows and camped for the night. Not only that, ascending up the tusk itself involves a chimney scramble that is not for the faint of heart. It was a great way to see the mountain because it was quiet (we were the only ones hiking that way), and we circled around the whole mountain, so 5 stars for view and scenery.
